Keeping your audience entertained, inspired, and updated is the best way to ensure your brand is always on the minds of your followers. But how do you accomplish this? Read on to find out.

Publish when your audience is most active

Uploading your feed posts, reels, and stories when most of your audience is online will ensure that many of them will see and engage with your posts during the first few minutes that you’ve posted them. This encourages the algorithm to push your content to the top of users’ tabs. So, you get more visibility this way and more engagement.

Create more video content

70% of Instagram users (975 million people!) watch Instagram stories daily. And feed post videos are engaged with 2x more than other forms of content. These numbers are set to increase even more as the platform becomes more video-centric this year.

So how can you use videos to promote your business? Here are some ideas about things you can share:

  • Product guides.

  • Behind-the-scene moments.

  • Customer stories.

  • Inspirational moments.

  • Adverts, and more.

Below is a great example from UFC using feed videos to share teasers for their matches.

Create relatable carousels

Carousels are what we call multiple images or videos uploaded in one post. Carousels have three dots under the post which denote that users can scroll to see the next image/video. Here’s an example below.

Carousels help boost the engagement you’d normally have gotten from just one video or photo post. Stats show that using a carousel for your image or video posts leads to 1.92% more engagement compared to just videos (1.45%) and photos (1.74%).

You can use carousels to share relatable memes, educational content, event highlights, and user-generated content, among others.

Use hashtags

Including relevant hashtags in your post will help you get the attention of ideal consumers who aren’t yet following you. This is because, on Instagram, users can follow hashtags just as they follow accounts. This allows them to see the top trending post on a hashtag on their home feed.

Stats show that your post can get up to 24% more interaction when you include one hashtag. That goes up to 30% for 15 and 35% when you use 20 hashtags. Here are some examples of hashtags:

  • #CreateVideoContent.

  • #TimeContentPublishing.

  • #UseMoreHashtags.
